Day 24 part 2: Acrobats!

We visited the Jade markets that afternoon. It’s basically the same as other markets except it’s indoors and massive. We visited the Silk markets on the last day and it was the exact same experience so I’ll elaborate on it then.

For now, acrobatic show is much more interesting to talk about than markets. After dinner we went to a local Chinese acrobatic show. All the performers were students training to become the next Cirque de Soleil types and could do all the crazy body balancing stuff. The two best parts were the beginning and the end. Before the show even began there was a scrolling screen at the top displaying the rules of the theater and acts of the play. The rules were as follow, please note I have left everything as it was displayed including spelling, grammar and punctuation:

1) Do not smoke in theatre

2) Do not throw peel and waste paper tithin the theatre

3) Within the theatre the middle seat, the first row-13 row of seats is the VIP area, in this area please consult staff

4) After show began Do not Shouting loudly please. If necessary, please pass go on both sides of the safe passage

5) After the performance, please An orderly leave theatre. Don’t crowded, pay attention to safety.

Alternating with the rules were the titles of the different acts of the show. Read these titles and tell me what you think this kind of show they make this look like:

The show was good. The star was this little girl who balanced herself on top of no less than 10 chairs piled up. The most impressive part though was the very last act. They rolled out this giant metal ball, and this guy on a motorcycle went inside of it so the guy was driving around inside the ball, going around and upside down and all over. Then they brought out another one so two guys were driving around inside the ball! They had to time each other’s moves perfectly because one slip and one would wall and the other would run right over him. But then they brought out another one! Suddenly there were three motorcycles racing around inside this enclosed space and I couldn’t believe it, one would be going around sideways and the other two would be circling upside down and it was insane.

And then another one came out! I’m not even kidding they had FOUR guys inside the ball at the same time! I can’t believe no one got killed. They stopped at four though which was good. It was very cool.
